Matcha Green Tea was popularised in Japan, where it is traditionally drunk out of bowls in spiritual ceremonies. The tea is made up of a blend of several different leaves, to create a blend which when added to water, creates an emerald green hue.

MONIN has adapted this traditional drink to create MONIN Matcha Green Tea Concentrate, allowing you to enjoy its delicious flavour in a variety of hot and cold beverages with ease.

The History

The concept of powdered tea originated in China over 1000 years ago, and was eventually spread over to Japan by monks. Matcha Tea eventually became part of many spiritual rituals, and was enjoyed particularly by monks and the upper classes. Nowadays, the drink is experiencing a global resurgence, as it is said to possess many health benefits, including anti-carcinogenic properties and helping with weight loss.
